God. There is no connection to the internet.
I cannot imagine I have yet to surf the internet for a week. If I was in KL, this situation would only happen if someone destroyed the computer, chained it up or killed me. As of now, this entry is actually a back post in which consists of me typing pathetically into a notepad whilst glaring at the non-existent wireless connection symbol.
This week had actually been a really quick one, packed with lots of events and so I must summarize. (Next week will probably be the same as well)
Yesterday I went to Republic Polytechnic for Xinthesis. Jolene, Wei Kang and I planned to go earlier so that we could take dinner before the concert started. I was all for it, considering that I had to actually leave the hostel about 5 to actually make it to the 7.30 show and that would mean I couldn't eat dinner in the hostel. Besides, barely three days into hostel food and I was sick of it again. (I'm skipping dinner today as well - the third day in this week 0_o)
Anyway, I reached the MRT at about 6.30, waited for a few minutes before they actually arrived. (All whilst trying not to appear like a lost sheep as people rushed busily in and out of the station) Dinner was a HK deer-meat set. Other than it containing a little more MSG than usual and the fact that I was probably eating a relation of Bambi, it was quite nice. And throughout the entire time I was fiddling with Wei Kang's adorable hungry-artist's hat, a beret.
After eating, we noticed we were late and speedily bought Tang Yang's flowers from a sort-of-sundry-shop because there were no flower shops to be seen. Jolene had to buy something for her friend to eat as well, and with my high heels; we ran. Fun, I know.
And ran out to the bus terminal. And ran even more when we realised that we were at the completely wrong end. On the way there, we met quite a lot of people from school. Mao was surprisingly in the same bus as us. There was also the incident in which Gracie and Elizabeth actually thought that Wei Kang was Vietnamese and refused to believe me when I mentioned that both of them were not scholars. They brought up the time in which I acted the "Beast" in choir camp as a testament to my acting skills. Jolene and Wei Kang didn't help, talking in faux accents and insisting they were from Indonesia and Vietnam respectively. (Jolene's Indonesian name was Abu baba)
The concert was really good, I personally thought the venue looked better than Melizzo's. The background was simply beautiful, with the black contrasting with the red emblem on the back of the stage and red ribbons hug vertically, with its shadows making the stage look ethereal. Guzheng sounded like airy creatures dancing in the sky, I had closed my eyes just to better enjoy the music. (I like the second song best) Malay club made me feel a little proud to understand (and know) what they were talking about - references to Badang, the strongest man in the world and all. I thought Dikir Barat had required a kompang and all, though. I guess it was quite different, in a good way.
Chinese Dance was so much better than I expected, and you could totally see the amount of effort they put it. I could totally tell that 90% of them, if not all; had ballet backgrounds. Out of their four dances, the last was the most powerful; and it made me feel like I watching a real dance in a theatre. I felt all the emotions the dancers were potraying very vividly, and the choreography was perfect. Chinese Drama, on the other hand; was also relatively cool. I mean, I haven't exactly watched anything that really consisted components of the original Chinese Drama, with the many drum-whatchamacallits instruments as the bg music, the dramatic makeup and the elaborate ancient costumes. I totally didn't know Feng Hua was acting as the main chara until someone told me. Meng Yue was cool as a guard, though. :)
I quite regretted not buying VIP seats. Apparently, they got a 20 minute extra drama for the additional three dollars they paid. The drama of which I had wanted to see, considering it had been the one containing all the PRC scholars from class. (And apparently Chong Jian whipped someone 0_o)
